Osun election: This is democracy - Buhari reacts to Adeleke's victory in the election just concluded.


Adeleke emerged victorious from the gubernatorial election after receiving 403,371 votes to his main opponent Gboyega Oyetola who received 375,027 votes. 


In response, President Buhari expressed his satisfaction with the outcome in a statement on his verified Facebook page. Exercise and said, "That's what democracy is  about: respecting the will of the people."The President also pledged that his government would continue to ensure credible elections in the country. He wrote: "I congratulate Senator Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP), on her victory in the  gubernatorial election in Osun. 


The people of Osun have expressed their will through voting. “The successful staging of #OsunDecides2022 is a testament to the maturity and  commitment of everyone involved in strengthening the integrity of the electoral  process in Nigeria. "I remain fully committed to leaving  a legacy of credible elections in Nigeria."
